Chinese Football Association to Sue British Sponsor

The Chinese Football Association is planning to sue British internet telephony company iPhox in order to recover unpaid sponsorship fees. In 2006, iPhox signed a six million euro agreement with the China Football Association (CFA) to sponsor China’s Super League football competition. Chasing the sponsorship fee has been difficult for the CFA.

Organisers of this year’s Hong Kong Cricket Sixes have announced that the event will go ahead with or without a title sponsor, after an enthusiastic response from Hong Kong’s business community. Revenue from corporate boxes and sponsorship packages alone is now enough to cover the event’s expenses.

Olympic and Paralympic beverage sponsor Coca-Cola is trying its luck against the Chinese government by attempting to acquire China’s largest fruit juice company. Coca-Cola said yesterday that it has made an offer for the Huiyuan Juice Group Ltd. for the equivalent of US$2.4 billion.

Asian Beach Games: Indonesia Still Seeking Sponsorship

As Indonesia prepares to host the 2008 Asian Beach Games in October, the hunt continues for sponsors willing to commit to the event. Head of the National Training Camp for the Asian Beach Games, Djoko Pramono said that five companies had already agreed to sponsorships, including Pertamina, Panasonic, and official apparel sponsor Carisbrook.

Alcon Sponsors Sight-Saving Training in Heilongjiang
